DVD-Video
Mastering
DVD-Video
is the fastest spreading consumer format of all time.
In 2003, six years after introduction of the format,
there are over 250 million DVD playback devices worldwide,
including DVD players, DVD PCs, and DVD game consoles.
DVD-Video
can produce high quality video and high resolution
audio. The trouble is that the combined data rate
of audio and video content must be less than 10 Mbps
at any time. More often than not, the audio data rate
is compromised, resulting in poor sound quality.
24-96
Mastering can make an enormous difference to sound
quality on DVD-V releases by applying special processing
prior to the encoding in order to counteract compression
artefacts. At 24-96 Mastering we can master and encode
audio to linear PCM, Dolby Digital (AC3) and DTS streams,
providing the best possible sound quality achievable
within the specified bandwidth restrictions.
