Restoration
Don't throw away your mix just yet! We can very effectively
remove noise, clicks, rumble, crackle, hum, and other
artefacts of a compromised recording.
Common
problems we're dealing with on a regular basis include
electrically induced noise, vinyl crackle, tape hiss,
digital clicking, air conditioning hum and low frequency
rumble, coughs, the noise of turning pages and even
car horns.
Vinyl Restoration
Vinyl restoration starts with a pristine transfer.
To accomplish the highest possible quality, we use
broadcast quality turntables and Digital Audio Denmark
converters. All vinyl restoration is done in 24 bit
resolution in Sadie and Wavelab systems, eliminating
noise, crackle and hum.
Contrary
to common belief, a well preserved record can be a
suitable source for a great sounding master.
Forensic Audio Restoration
24-96
Mastering can improve poor quality audio drastically.
We accept a wide variety of sources including cassette
tape, CCTV video tape, PDA and mobile phone recorded
sound files and many more.
Most
forensic audio consists of recorded dialog or conversations
that are difficult or impossible to understand. In
such cases we suppress or eliminate background noise
and other unwanted artefacts to make the spoken words
understandable. The result of our work can be supplied
in any format you require, be it a CD, Minidisc, cassette
tape or other.
Forensic Audio Verification
24-96
Mastering offer specialist verification of existing
recordings in cases of doubt. Fabricated or falsified
auditorial evidence can often easily be spotted due
to cuts and edits, crosstalk, revealing low level
sounds, direct sound to ambience mismatch or a bandwidth
mismatch between the recording and the specified recording
device. We will supply you with a written report of
our findings after we have completed our analysis.
Our
verification services can also be useful if background
noises or acoustic spaces need to be identified. You
may even just want to listen to the forensic recording
in our reference listening environment - the low level
detail audible on our specialised speaker system in
our acoustically revealing mastering suite may provide
you with previously unheard information.
